Extreme Couponing for You

The way this previously worked was that my mother and grandmother (and sometimes a few neighbors or friends) used to spend time on Sundays with the Sunday papers looking with regard to bargains and coupons on the agenda in the following 7 days. They would talk about all kinds of things including who needed what coupons for any upcoming week(s), and who had coupons which were about to expire and weren't planning to be used, and maybe the widow Jones' new gentleman friend...

Why did they try this Normal Couponing? They were basically "stay-at-home" women and were responsible for running the household. Among other stuff, this included: cleaning (property, clothes, children and pets), making sure that individuals were set for appointments using doctors and dentists, etc. More importantly, they were to blame for the household budget, and no matter what the external circumstances, making sure that the budget worked. Ensuring that, in her household, everybody was clean, healthy, wearing clean clothes and had been well fed. That has been a mother's responsibility, and saving money anywhere you could has been essential. Using coupons to conserve. 05 or. 25 or "buy 1 get 1 free" with coupons was an ideal way.

Extreme Couponing seems to be fairly new, but I think that the mentality 's been around for a lot more time. I recall the cold war and people thinking about installing bomb shelters and figuring out how to stockpile enough food, water and toilet cardstock to last underground for years...

So, why has it become so popular and more advertised now? I'm quite sure that folks have been talking about it for years in the boards and user sites using the web, but that it so obvious to many people. However, YouTube and Television Truth of the matter Shows have brought it to the present "Buzz" status, and that's not necessarily good or bad. It's just whatever made me wonder, what's it all about and how should it work?

In a word, it's about stockpiling. Some consult it as hoarding, but I don't think it's.

Extreme Couponing is usually collecting and storing large quantities of items which you could get for the most economical price using coupons. What you do with each other after checking straight from the store(s) can be quite different.

One thing that's being done is loading most of the goodies into vehicles and taking them all to charitable organizations for distribution to your needy and; in that economy, there are plenty of us that are grateful for the help.

Another reason for doing such a couponing is to stockpile non-perishables for your personal use. I remember a "buyer caused" toilet paper shortage back somewhere in the 70's that was caused by a rumor that there was going to be one. Large numbers of people ran out together with bought the shelves clean creating the shortage! That's NOT what extreme couponing is about. It's about very careful planning and many work gathering, organizing and then inventorying and storing all the purchases. All of this activity will take many hours or even days to complete properly.

Extreme Couponing - What Is It All About?

Whatever the you have seen and also heard, I want to explain that Power Couponing (together with Extreme Couponing) is a very real passion if you're. The ones that you have seen on Youtube videos or over the Learning Channel are real people. You see, cutting them out or collecting them to save you money on the groceries (and all kinds of other products) actually does work. You may use just a few coupons when you buy, but some people go armed with pocket full of them to maximize their own savings. You need to have a look at why it actually will work.

What can be a coupon? It is a simple advertisement for the store or the product. Let's imagine that you had a coupon that would help you save $1 on a $2 item that you really normally use. The store is hoping to entice that you buy it, and also hoping that while doing so, you will purchase some other items. You save money because you used the coupon, the store makes funds because (hopefully) you bought other products. So now you might have saved $1. If you saved $1 on 10 different items in the week, that is $10. That is what basic couponing does for you.

Now, let's take it up a notch. Power couponing takes it a few steps further. Imagine if you could use several on each item that you really bought. Imagine that the $1 you saved converted into $2 on that $2 item. The advertisers do not expect you to do that. It won't happen all the time, but many advertisers (either the major company or even individual stores) will advertise in lots of different locations. They do not expect that you would be able to get all the coupons from the different advertising media and benefit from the multiple coupons. So let us examine the $2 product again. If you identified a coupon for $1 off and used it... you would only pay $1 for the item (basic couponing). Now, if you found an additional coupon advertising Buy 1, Get 1 Free for the same item (same basic principle for any retailer.... pay $2 and purchase a Free item gives a net result of $1 per item) They do not imagine that you can have both coupons! You purchase one $2 item while using the $1 off coupon AND use the Buy 1, Get 1 Free coupon which means you get 2 of the same $2 item for just $1... or 50 cents an article. Much better deal to suit your needs... you just saved 75% in the purchase. This is Power Couponing or Extreme Couponing.

Couponing, whether basic or to the extreme is actually a skill. You need to know where to find the them. You need to keep organized to ensure that none of them are generally expired, or have limitations. Individual retailers may have policies on using multiple coupons on a single item either imposed by themselves or by the companies. Of course you can only rely on them for the items they're just advertising. In some circumstances, some stores will take the multiple coupons as long as it they have sufficient inventory with the item to cover the ones that they accept. coupons printable
